At echelon cycling hub (ech), pronounced like 'esh' (rhymes with fresh) our name represents who we are. Originating as a cycling club in Ukraine, an echelon is the formation riders take to fight against a brutal crosswind. It represents the ultimate truth in cycling: we are stronger together, and our power comes from supporting within the team.
Now, we have turned a new page. We relocated to Mallorca and launched echelon cycling hub, a true "hub" designed to provide every single service a cyclist could ever need.
Starting a new business in a new country is tough. But nothing prepared us for the ultimate test of our teamwork: renovating our new shop. We survived it, we are still friends, and it inspired our very first custom cycling kit here. When an unexpected construction mishap turned our renovation plans completely upside down, it actually revealed a beautiful, striking pattern right before our eyes. Instead of seeing a mess, we found our ultimate creative spark - and that accidental artwork became the design for our new jersey.
The Microcemento Nightmare
When we first rented the shop, the floor was covered in cheap, 20-year-old white gloss tiles. It looked dated, so our landlord kindly agreed to a full renovation - new drywall, a fresh ceiling, and a modern floor. We wanted something comfortable, fresh, and contemporary, so we chose a light grey microcemento and the landlord agreed to make it.
Since we were operating out of our living rooms - which were overflowing with bikes and tools - we were exhausted and eager to move in. By late September, our first customer orders arrived, so the moment the beautiful new floor was ready, we rushed in to assemble our workshop.
Everything was perfect. Until it wasn't.
A few days later, the floor started cracking. First in one corner, then everywhere. It was a disaster. The landlord suggested patching up the front of the shop, but within days, the entire floor was ruined. Time and money, completely wasted.
510 Sacks of History
It turned out that pouring microcemento directly over old tiles was a critical mistake. We had no choice but to tear it all out.
Instead of training our legs on Mallorca's famous climbs, we were training our arms. We spent days hammering the floor, lifting heavy scrap, and filling roughly 260 sacks of broken microcemento to load onto trucks.
Once the microcemento was gone, we decided to rip out the old white tiles too. That meant another 250 sacks of heavy debris. But during this grueling process, we were reminded that the most beautiful things aren’t always on the top or easily visible. Sometimes, you have to dig deep.
Beneath the cheap tiles, we uncovered the original, old-world terrazzo stone floor. It was in near-perfect condition. It was raw, timeless, and incredibly tough - exactly the kind of character and grit we value as cyclists. We couldn’t believe our luck.
After a quick trip to the construction store to weigh our options, we knew what we had to do. We fell in love with the history, the durability, and the sheer beauty of the stone. We decided to restore it and keep it forever.

That terrazzo floor is now the heart of our shop. It is robust, practical, premium, and carries a story of resilience that defines our team.
We wanted to make our first-ever ECH cycling wear collection deeply special.
We wanted it to tell our story. That is why the unique, classic pattern of our restored terrazzo floor is the official design of our debut kit.
